Exercise Science is informed by metrics. They allow to assess athlete performance, health, or areas for improvement. An important aspect of my work focuses on capturing new or more rich metrics in unobtrusive ways.
Running
Information on braking and propulsion forces during running are important measures of performance. We investigate estimating these forces from minimal subsets of wearable sensors, and compared lab-based ground truth measurements in the lab to estimates on the treadmill, outdoors, and overground.
